spirituality

did you hear that?

   that sound?

      listen

         carefully

      for you will never

   hear it

      quite the same way

   again...

what are you?

sometimes, it's hard to know where to get started. i think a good way to begin is at beliefnet. try the link to the "belief-o-matic" and see what they think you are... (i'm 100% neo-pagan with unitarian universalism running a close second at 98%)

dailythoughts.org and hungerfighters.com
a simple daily practice

for me, this has been a way to remind myself every morning of the world out there. it's very simple: sign up to receive a quote a day via email. the quotes are on a nice picture and cover all types of different topics from all types of different sources. on the email, there's a link that takes you to hungerfighters, where there is a donation center where you can click once each day to "donate one cup of free food to fight hunger".
that's it. no cost, no obligation, but i have managed to participate in this just about every day for nearly a year and a half - probably somewhere close to 500 cups of food. as with so many things, i always wish i could do more, but that is for other areas and other times and this one gives me a little and i feel like i can give back a little.

spiritualityandpractice.com
a great bunch of resources

this site provides a list of readings, meditations, videos, books, art, exercises and much more that is grouped into a list of 20 or so practices. but the site keeps going with sections on spiritual teachers, e-courses and plenty of activities to keep you busy and exploring for quite some time.

faithstreams.com
another set of readings

i just found this site while browsing through spiritualityandpractice.com, and i have to say, i'm very impressed with what i see so far. there are a bunch of topics if you click on the 'All Topics' link in the left navigation bar. they are partnered with an impressive array of faith groups and organizations.

wicca/neo-paganism

i have been responsible for a local winter solstice ceremony each year. you can see one here. in this one, i attempted to analog the unitarian universalist principles into the directional calling points.

if you're interested in learning about wicca, there's an amazing site with hundreds of lessons to choose from called witchschool. click the link to the left and you can try them for free for a month and, if you like it, you can take as many courses as you like for $5 a month. i've been impressed with the quality of the lessons, and they are designed to provide a "degree" in Correllian Wicca through several levels.
